A storm-damaged city is focused on rebuilding its manufacturing, industrial, and commercial businesses and creating new opportunities for growth and development.

On Dec. 10, 2021, a long-track EF4 tornado struck Mayfield, causing catastrophic damage to homes, businesses, and properties. The destruction of industrial sites, land, and parks, and the infrastructure that supported manufacturing, industrial, and commercial businesses resulted in the loss of jobs and significantly affected ongoing economic development.
In response, in 2022, the City of Mayfield created the Mayfield Kentucky Industrial Authority to aid in the reconstruction of the City and surrounding community. MKIA supports entrepreneurial growth and acts as a one-stop shop for business resources.
In short, MKIA is the leading agent of rebirth for a city determined to rebuild and prosper.
MKIA partners with a range of other development organizations to envision, initiate, and deliver projects in support of our mutual goals.
