The Mayfield Kentucky Industrial Authority (MKIA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering economic growth in the City of Mayfield and surrounding communities with emphasis on re-developing areas damaged by the 2021 tornado.
MKIA serves as a catalyst for business growth and job creation by attracting new businesses, supporting existing enterprises, and facilitating a thriving economic environment.
in support of that mission, MKIA provides resources, incentives, and expertise to aid in business expansion and community development.
Governed by a team of board members appointed by Mayfield's Mayor, MKIA is led by Executive Director Jason Lemle.

Founded in 2022
Securing grants and incentives for businesses and manufacturers in the City, including those destroyed by the tornado.
Helping develop commercial and industrial property, and acquiring, retaining, and developing land for industrial and commercial purposes.
Helping develop and promote industrial sites, parks, and subdivisions, and providing infrastructure necessary for manufacturers, industries, or commercial establishments.
What will Mayfield look like in 10 years, 20 years, or even 50 years from now? The answer lies with us. What are we willing to do today to make Mayfield’s future bright?
The Mayfield Kentucky Industrial Authority (MKIA) was created to play a vital role in shaping that future and we are working hard every day to make the vision of Mayfield’s future success a reality.
I didn’t grow up here, so in some ways I see Mayfield a bit differently—my view isn’t clouded by history. Failures of the past, lost glory, none of that matters to me. I see a community of strong, hardworking people living in the very heart of America, with the resources and assets necessary to build a successful future.
I see the value in rebuilding our community for our future children and grandchildren, and establishing a thriving, beautiful downtown so their quality of life will exceed our expectations. I believe we can become a magnet, not only for business and industry, but also for people seeking to raise their families in a community built on faith, values, and financial security.

With that vision, MKIA is building a community founded on a strong economy - one that incorporates agriculture, industry, retail, service, and tourism. We serve as Mayfield’s liaison, bringing together the right partners and the financing necessary for projects that will serve as the foundation of our future success.
We are investing in a workforce that meets the needs of those future employers and helps them compete in every market while serving as the future leaders that will carry our success forward.
I’m excited to be part of this journey and look forward to reaching key milestones along the way to that shared vision.
