The Mayfield Kentucky Industrial Authority (MKIA) is a non-profit entity dedicated to fostering economic growth in the City of Mayfield and surrounding communities with emphasis on re-development of areas damaged by the 2021 tornado.
To date, MKIA has received funds from the City of Mayfield, the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the U.S. Economic Development Administration.
MKIA is a non-profit organization governed by a board of directors appointed by the Mayor of the City of Mayfield. Jason Lemle serves as MKIA Executive Director.
MKIA’s role is to serve as a catalyst for business growth and job creation in the City of Mayfield and surrounding communities with emphasis on areas damaged by the 2021 tornado.
MKIA provides resources, incentives, and expertise to aid in business expansion and community development.

The MKIA was formed in 2022 specifically for the downtown commercialization and revitalization of the new business district formed in the city of Mayfield. Graves County Economic Development, founded in 1981, has long been a driving force behind expansion and development opportunities in Graves County. GCED continues to foster strong relationships with existing businesses and attract new industry.

The City formed several committees after the tornado and one of the committees sought to form a reimagined downtown. The redevelopment zone was born from those meetings and discussions.
